Trustfund Pensions Limited a leading Pension Fund Administrator (PFA) requires the services of credible candidates to fill the position of Head of Investment that have emerged. The Head of Investment department will be reporting directly to the Executive Director.

REQUIREMENTS.
- BSc. in Accountancy, Economics, Banking & Finance or Business-related discipline.
- MBA or additional professional qualifications (CFA, ICAN, CIS, ACCA etc) will enhance competitiveness.
- Candidate must possess a minimum post qualification experience of 10 years.
- The candidate must possess a minimum of 8 years cognate experience in the financial sector.
- Candidate must also have at least 4 years’ experience in top Management position(s).
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute the company’s Portfolio Management Strategy and provide periodic advice on the optimal portfolio mix and individual portfolio components.
- Develop the company’s investment policies and processes and recommend modifications as required.
- Vet and approve all investment proposals developed by Investment Officers.
- Monitor investments, economic conditions, markets and portfolio performance with respect to stated investment objectives/goals and make appropriate recommendations.
- Obtain funding position from Fund Accounting by 8.45am daily.
- Update the rate guide, negotiate investment placements and obtain Risk Management concurrence.
- Prepare deal slips for approved investments and forward to Fund Accounting. (Activities 1-3 must be completed latest 12noon daily).
- Review investment transactions of the previous day and ensure that all consummated deals are booked.
- Undertake daily review of the secondary market equity prices, bond yields, money market rates and forward daily pricelist to Fund Accounting by 4pm to update investment portfolios.
- Prepare investment proposals for the review and approval of the Management Investment Committee (MIC) every Monday. (Supplementary presentations for fresh funds received after MIC’s approval as and when received.
- Ensure that all maturing obligations are pursued with counter party and paid down on a daily basis.
- In conjunction with the research analyst, ensure that investment proposals are carried out with in depth fundamental and technical analysis as prescribed in the Asset Allocation Manual.
- Update the Corporate Action Register on a daily basis and do follow up action.
- Prepare a detailed Expected Coupon report for all the funds within five working days of the beginning of the month.
- Ensure that contract notes are obtained from counter parties for all respective transactions within 48hrs of execution.
- Review the equity portfolio and ensure that all stop loss gap mechanism is activated in times of falling prices.
- Provide a counter party default report within five working days of the month end.
- Investment views: Provide prompt, informed and independent view of investment alternatives and choices to the investment officers and other investment decision makers before close of business on a daily basis.
- Market Commentary: Prepare concise reports on market conditions every Monday morning. Such reports are expected to offer short term forecasts for the markets or for particular sectors of relevance for Trustfund portfolios.
- Sector Reports: Provide quarterly, a comprehensive report on the Nigerian Economy, particularly major sectors to which Trustfund maintains substantial equity market exposure.
- Fixed Income Commentaries: Publish weekly reports on the debt markets, including FGN securities, sub-national bonds, mortgages, corporate bonds, and other specialized fixed income securities.
- Asset Valuation: Provide valuation of non-quoted securities at the point of investment in addition to annual review of existing portfolio of non-quoted investments.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Executive Director Operations and the Board.
